My name is Lo Calsada, and my story begins with family.

I come from strong women and multi-generational homes, where love was shared in spicy food and communal kitchens filled with chisme.

I come from rich soil, curanderas and doing things Mexican style.

My work reflects the love and resilience of my lineage, weaving together the stories of people whose voices often go unheard.

With each project, I aim to create intentional portraits of the worlds I’ve encountered, bringing forth the beauty and complexity of queer communities, chosen families, and those navigating systems of injustice.

My experience spans a range of film projects that challenge societal norms while advocating for reform and healing, always centering the voices of those directly impacted.

Through detailed imagery, storytelling, and a deep empathy for my subjects, my mission is to uplift and amplify the truths that connect us all.

As you explore my work, you’re stepping into the intimate and powerful stories of those I’ve had the privilege to meet.

con amor,

Lo
